Summary

Brands Hatch delivered a brilliant start to the season for the Hardiman Race Team, and we at Roadrunner Motorcycles couldn’t be prouder of Aaron’s performance. Across testing, qualifying, and three fiercely competitive races, he showed determination, precision, and maturity. Even with a temporary lower‑powered engine, Aaron’s corner speed and commitment highlighted exactly why we’re proud to support his racing journey.

Friday’s test sessions revealed both strengths and limitations, with worn tyres affecting traction but still allowing Aaron to post competitive times. Fresh rubber transformed confidence heading into qualifying. Saturday brought intense pace, strategic riding, and a top‑ten qualifying result, proving Aaron and the bike remained capable despite the horsepower disadvantage affecting straight‑line performance.

Race one emphasised the challenge of competing against stronger engines, particularly on the straights, yet Aaron’s commitment in the technical sections kept him firmly in the fight. Securing tenth in such a competitive field was a strong opener. The Newcomer Open race added further momentum, with Aaron taking a well‑earned podium despite low sun and reduced visibility, demonstrating consistency and impressive race craft.

Sunday’s dyno session confirmed the scale of the power deficit, with the temporary engine producing just 109hp after adjustments. Even so, Aaron delivered thrilling overtakes, strong early pace, and a breakthrough lap time in the 51s during race two. Race three brought valuable lessons, with small mistakes proving costly but offering clear direction for future refinement and continued development as the season progresses.

Overall, the weekend strengthened our confidence in Aaron and reinforced our shared goals ahead of Cadwell Park. With the race engine due back soon and further reliability improvements planned, preparations are already underway.
