Roadrunner Motorcycles and Our Ongoing Role in UK Racing

Motorcycle racing has become a natural extension of what we do at Roadrunner Motorcycles. The workshop in Stroud has supported riders for years, preparing machines for everything from club racing to the Isle of Man Pre‑TT Classic. It’s a relationship built on trust, consistency and the shared goal of giving riders a bike they can rely on.

Our connection with Dean Ratcliff goes back many years, long before the race reports and long before the Isle of Man became part of his story. We’ve supported his racing for a decade, built on a genuine friendship, and the work we do on his bike reflects that history — steady preparation, careful checks and a shared understanding built over time.

Hardiman Racing joined us more recently, now entering their second season with Roadrunner’s support. Their racing at Anglesey, Cadwell Park and Brands Hatch has shown how important solid workshop preparation is before a bike ever reaches the paddock. Every machine leaves Stroud ready for the demands of a full race weekend, built on the same standards we apply to all our customer work.

Castle Combe has been a shared stop for both teams and it’s also our local circuit. We at Roadrunner have enjoyed many trackdays there on our own purpose‑built, workshop‑prepared track bikes. It’s a fast, flowing circuit that rewards stability and smooth power delivery, and the preparation done in the workshop shows clearly on track for both our riders and our own machines.

The Isle of Man brings a different kind of pressure. The Billown Circuit, home of the Pre‑TT Classic and the Southern 100, demands accuracy in every part of the bike. Dean’s qualifying session this year showed how quickly conditions can shift, but the race itself proved the value of careful preparation. Seven fast laps, no issues and a strong finish — exactly what you want from a machine built for real‑world racing.

Working on race machines naturally sharpens the way we approach road bikes. Race prep demands precision, speed and a clear understanding of how every component behaves under pressure. That mindset carries straight into our day‑to‑day workshop work, influencing the way we service, diagnose and fine‑tune the road bikes riders across Stroud and the Cotswolds trust us with.

FAQs Riders Ask:

What does Roadrunner do for track / race bikes?   We handle preparation, carburettor work, diagnostics, mechanical checks and performance‑focused servicing before the teams head to their race weekends.

How does Roadrunner support riders at the Isle of Man?   By ensuring the bike leaves the workshop stable, reliable and ready for the Billown Circuit’s unique challenges.

Does racing experience improve everyday servicing?   Absolutely. What we learn from Hardiman Racing and Team Ratcliff directly improves the work we do for road riders.

Racing is now part of Roadrunner’s identity. Whether it’s Castle Combe, Cadwell Park or the Isle of Man, we’re proud to support riders who push their machines — and our workmanship — to the limit.
